ISPAH and The Journal of Physical Activity and Health (JPAH) are delighted to officially announce the two successful early career researchers selected for the 2026 JPAH LMIC ECR Congress Scholarship.

We wish to congratulate Anjali Dhasmana, PhD Scholar from the Department of Sports Management and Coaching at Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior, India, and Dr Merling Phaswana, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, School of Therapeutic Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. 

"JPAH is excited to support two emerging researchers from the Global South in their participation at ISPAH’s Congress,” said JPAH Co-Editor Prof. Melody Ding. “The journal is committed to promoting research equity in Majority World settings. Helping Anjali and Merling attend the conference is a meaningful step in making sure they feel welcomed by the global research community."

The early career researchers shared the following messages ahead of their journey to 2026 ISPAH Congress in Mérida, México this October.
